One School Global — Clearing the Way for Education
Quantum Group is delivering a staged transformation at One School Global:
demolition and brickwork packages are complete and the project is live as detailed civil engineering works continue. Our role has been deliberately phased — starting with a meticulous soft strip, followed by targeted dismantling and structural modification, finished brickwork to secure new openings and now the complex drainage and service runs that will future‑proof the site. Below is a detailed account of each service we’ve provided for the client.
Soft Strip Out — Clearing the canvas for change
Where do you start when you need a blank slate? We began with a full soft strip to prepare the building for every subsequent trade. All carpet tiles were carefully removed, floor panels lifted to expose and extract underfloor electrical cabling and ceiling‑mounted mechanical and electrical systems — including HVAC components and their containment — were safely disconnected and taken out. Plasterboard stud walls were stripped back, while doors and doorframes were removed. In both plant rooms we decommissioned and removed mechanical pipework with careful isolation, labelling and segregation for client approval.
Dismantling & Deconstruction — Precision Where It Counts
How do you remove heavy internal fabric without destabilising the rest of the building? Our dismantling and deconstruction scope at One School Global focused on selective removal to create functional, reconfigured spaces. Internal block walls were dismantled to open up the new bathroom areas, and an internal partition separating the downstairs plant room from the main area was carefully taken out to create a generous, unobstructed space. We also removed the glazed front entrance canopy — a complex sequence of safe dismantling that required temporary works and lift planning. To accommodate new ventilation plant, our teams cut 28 openings through brick and block on both sides of the building, accurately sized and positioned to the client’s mechanical design. Every cut and removal was planned with temporary support, dust control and access management in mind, ensuring adjacent finishes and services remained protected.

Brickwork & Structural Openings — Strength and Finish
When openings are required, how do you combine structural integrity with a neat finish? For each of the 28 new apertures we installed certified steel lintels sized to the loading conditions, ensuring long‑term structural performance. Once lintels were bedded and tied into the existing masonry, our bricklayers infilled the head courses above and reinstated the exposed brickwork to match the existing façade where required.
Why is the civil phase critical?
How do you take a finished site back to base level, chase services into a building and run them neatly through a busy courtyard without bringing the programme to a halt? At One School Global the civil engineering package is the live, critical path work: breaking out existing concrete, excavating service trenches, installing new drainage from the mains, routing pipework into the building and across the courtyard — all executed with precision to protect the programme and the client’s operational needs.
